The ASAIHL conference was held on 22-24 November 2009 at International University. The major Theme of the conference was focused on “Quality Assurance for Higher Education Development”. The participants were welcomed by the Senior Staff and organizing committee on reaching to the International University. I welcome the participants of the conference and discussed the role of International University in higher education and the educational opportunities to the people of Cambodia in the shape of IU. Dr. Ninnath Olavunravuth highlighted the importance of ASAIHL in the region and its impacts through Quality education. The representative of Dr. Prof. Mai Trong Nhuan, The President of the ASAIHL focused on the forthcoming activities of the ASAIHL. H.E. Im Sithy, Secretary of state, Minister for Education and Sports of Cambodia focused on the need of Quality Education for the people of Cambodia. He also discussed the loss of Resources during the past time. At the end of his speech, he declared the conference open for the participants.
The participants were representing different countries including Malaysia, Hong Kong, Brunei, Singapore, Japan, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, India and Sri Lanka. They presented different topics related with the main theme. On the last day of the conference, the Participants were offered a tour of Phnom Penh city and Grand Khmer APSARA Dancing Show. The participants were very happy for conducting the conference in such a pleasant and discipline manner. The participants specially thanked Dr. Anbin Ezhilan and his team members including Mr. Om Vanna, Mr. Pouli, Mr. Anderson and Dr. Sohail Rashid and for making this continuous hard work to make it successful. The next ASAIHL conference will be conducted in the month of April at National University of Taiwan.
